A little something for a certain Ms Moss..

Late last year, long time friends and talented couple Tim Rockins and Jess Morris asked us to re-create one of Tim's designs into a neckpiece to give to their close friend Kate Moss, as a special gift for her 40th birthday.

Tim's iconic illustrations have been used on everything from clothing for Selfridges and Luella Bartley (head designer at Marc by Marc Jacobs), to artwork used by such bands as Gorillaz and The Bees. The couple have just launched their own brand, rock & roll inspired silk scarves and handkerchiefs, seen worn by the likes of Kate, Jamie Hince and Bobby Gillespie. Tim and I had previously worked together on a gold skull and daffodil neckpiece for Jess's birthday a few years ago.
Jess's neckpiece, solid 9ct gold hand pierced and set with Rubies

Tim, Jess and I worked closely to get the design exactly right as it had to be perfect. I made several sample pieces up for them to choose....
Hand pierced silver set with Rubies
Silver with Sapphires (Tim kept this piece for himself!)
 Silver with gold detail
 Solid 9ct gold with Emeralds

Until they decided on....

 'The Eye'.

Tim and Jess wanted 2 pieces that would sit well together. The 'Eye' can be worn open or closed. The 'lid' has 'Kate' hand engraved with Tims' psychedelic handwriting. The 'Eye', vitreous enamel (colour to match Kate's eyes of course!), set with a Black Diamond.

We've just been told that Kate has now been given the piece and 'loves it'!!!. (phew!!)

A big thanks to Pete Harris who hand engraved.... 'Kate'.
